David Brooks è tra i più famosi giornalisti politici americani, oltreché celebrato «sociologo comico». Tiene una rubrica d’opinione sul «New York Times». Appare spesso al «The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer» della PBS e al «All Things Considered» della NPR. Già senior editor del «Weekly Stand-ard», suoi articoli sono apparsi anche su «The Atlantic Monthly», «Newsweek» e altre pubblicazioni. Vive a Bethesda, nel Maryland.
